Check if you can claim a grant through the Self-Employment Income Support Scheme
The government has launched the website today to check if you are eligible for the Self-Employment Income Support Scheme.
At this point tax payers can check whether or not they are eligible for the support. If yes, you will be given a date as to when the claim can be made, the earliest dates being 13th May 2020 onwards.
The link to check eligibility is here: https://www.tax.service.gov.uk/self-employment-sup...
More info on the scheme is here: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/claim-a-grant-through-...
In order to make the claim, you will need to have a Government Gateway ID. If you do not have one you will be asked to create one when you follow the link. You will need additonal information such as a driving licence photocard or passport for HMRC to check your identity against. Alternatively, HMRC may be able to confirm your identity by asking a series of questions based upon your bank/credit card activity.
